iQ LOOP Plans Kanata North Energy Pilot to Prove Peak-Demand Economics

iQ LOOP is developing a managed-energy pilot at Kanata North Technology Park, designed to demonstrate how its aluminium-based storage platform can reduce peak electricity demand for a shared campus of tenants. The project is structured as a landlord-led collaboration: the park provides the site and coordinates participating tenants, and the pilot generates shared evidence on cost savings and reliability that the wider park can act on.

The pilot will deliver both heat and dispatchable power, targeting savings against the diesel and grid-peak costs that currently drive a large share of tenants' annual electricity tariffs. iQ LOOP is also preparing a second, more portable demonstration at Area X.O later this year, showcasing a transportable unit capable of delivering heat and power to remote or off-grid locations.
