The energy systems that will matter most this century share three properties: they are circular, they produce no emissions in operation, and they can be deployed wherever energy is needed rather than only where the grid reaches. iQ LOOP is built around all three.

At the centre is a simple idea: aluminium is one of the most energy-dense materials available, holding roughly 23.5 kWh per litre — close to ten times the energy density of liquid hydrogen. iQ LOOP charges aluminium with low-cost renewable electricity through REGEN, moves it as a safe solid, and releases clean heat, power, and hydrogen on demand through CREATE. The spent material is then recovered and regenerated. Nothing is consumed and discarded. The same metal cycles indefinitely, carrying energy each time it goes around.
This circularity is not a sustainability footnote — it is the engineering basis for a zero-emission system that does not depend on continuous extraction. Independent peer-reviewed work published in Advanced Energy Materials in 2026 affirms the same thesis: aluminium operated in a closed Power-to-Aluminium and Aluminium-to-hydrogen cycle is a credible pathway to flexible, decarbonised energy storage. The future energy system is not a bigger version of today's. It's a loop.
